STUDENTS’AMENITIES AND FACILITIES

STUDENTS’ COMMON ROOM & LAB.

1. GIRL’S COMMON ROOM –A furnished hall with attached WC and sitting arrangement for 50 is provided to all the girl students of +2 and +3 streams of the college for the purpose of sharing ideas and opinions, views and voices. One Lady Attendant is placed as its care taker and one lady faculty member is assigned to look after its day today affairs. The amenities include adequate luminaries, ceiling fans, drinking water, News Papers and indoor game facilities. One TV set is being installed and tuned to some selected channels / programmes only (restrictions apply). A notice Board is placed to give them real time instructions.

2. BOY’S COMMON ROOM –A furnished hall with attached WC and sitting arrangement for 50 is provided to all the boy students of +2 and +3 streams of the college for the purpose of sharing ideas and opinions, views and voices. One faculty member is assigned to look after its day today affairs. The amenities include adequate luminaries, ceiling fans, drinking water, News Papers and indoor game facilities. One TV set is being installed and tuned to some selected channels / programmes only (restrictions apply). A notice Board is placed to give them real time instructions.

3. COMPUTER LAB & SAMS CENTRE – One Computer Lab with 12 desk-tops, working on LAN provision and added with Internet facility is available for the purpose of imparting syllabus based computer education to students and basic applications to faculties and members of the staffs. One ICT Assistant is placed as its care taker and is managed and maintained by the ICT-TSM Board of the College. The Computer Lab also work as a SAM Center for e-admission since 2012-13. Our college also renders Certificate Course in PGDCA to collegiate students at an afordable lower cost. The future prospective of the Computer Lab is and to offer professional training and Self – Financing Education in Computer Science and Application.

4. PROCEDURAL LAB. – The Education Department maintains one Procedural Lab for the purpose of study and research. It is used to render practical teaching modules and procedurals to the collegiate students of Education Department. The HOD of the department concerned shall remain In-charge of it.

5. CLEAN & GREEN ENVIRONMENT – Our College has reached stage-2 Institutional gardening in an attempt to provide a clean and green environment in the dimension of its total landscape. In avenue plantation the perimeter of the institution is arrested with a ring- line of neem trees and deodar so that it will stand as a sound barrier and effectively fights back air pollution. Permanent flowering plants are posted close to the buildings with regular intervals which is ideal for space management. The inside cross roads are bracketed with golden fosse haze work as it emits out a botanic bright impression. A small space gardening is also carved out in the central location with seasonal flowering plants and concept plantation like herbs and shrubs. The open space is fairly covered with Japanica shreya carpet grass giving rise to its multifaceted use and adoptability. Pot – culture gardening has also gained momentum with decorative shadow loving crotons for indoor furnishing. A group of naturally developed neem trees is fenced with a green barricade for the creation of an ‘air open green space extension' for general readers and library users amidst nature and natural environment. Collegiate students and members of the Alumni by forming an Eco Club have played a significant role in the creation, management and preservation of the College garden. They have adopted the plants and offered collective responsibility to make the garden green and vibrant by its looks.

6. CANTEEN - The College has developed a canteen near the main Entrance. It is well equipped with LPG Gas and Stove, Utencils, machinary support, refrigerator and drinking water facility. Although the prices of different dishes were fixed at the level of its cost of production but it failed to catch up the Students’ demand. The most obvious reasons are due the day-time functioning of the canteen, poor purchaging power and the canteen itself remaining non-operational for 5-6 months in a year, etc. How ever our canteen supports different programmes, events and observances made by the Service units, Atheletic and Cultural socities, and college administration. We hope the hostel facilities of the college once made available and operative may support the canteen to run.

7. WASTE MANAGEMENT- The Institution has posted waste-bins for the collection of organic and in-organic wastes. The organic wastes undergo further treatment in a compost pit and the in-organic wastes are sent through the agencies for the purpose of recycling.

8. LOST ARTICLES’ HOUSE –A Lost Articles’ House is developed to facilitate the process of connecting the lost article with its owner. To this effect a notice board is allotted to the students at Library and the Library Attendant is put in the charge as its custodian. Collegiate students who have either lost or found an article are required to fill in the lost or found segment of the form and to submit the same along with the article to the library attendant.

9. IN-HOUSE MEDICARE CENTRE –The YRC – RRC College Unit runs the IN-HOUSE MEDICARE CENTRE of the College in association with Rovers wing. A cell- room by the name and under the nose of Staff Common Room and with good approach road for ambulance is made available for the purpose along with first-aid medicines, Medicare procedurals, Rescue and recovery accessories, Refrigerator facility, etc. The Councilors of both the units i.e. YRC-RRC & Rovers wing are collectively placed in charge of it.

10. HYGENIC LAVATORIES – The lavatories of the college are clean and hygienic. This facility is made available at the points of students’ Common Rooms meant for the boys and girls, at Staff Common Room meant for the faculties, at Administrative Block for members of non-teaching staff, and attached to Principal’s chamber. A community sanitary system is also developed close to the college campus. A sweeper is allotted for regular cleaning and management of the lavatories.

11. TWO WHEELERS’ PARKING PLACE –A row of sheds have been provided for the purpose of parking two -wheelers meant for the collegiate students, members of staff and visitors to the Institution and one Parking-shed attendant is posted for watch and guard. 12. FACILITIES FOR DIFFERENTLY-ABLED –Ramps has been provided at ground floor level in all buildings and in the library, Guide-rails for the blind leads to Reading Room with Braille instructions. Special features for physically challenged are incorporated in Bathrooms attached to Common Rooms meant for the Boys and Girls.

13. SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS- 12nos. of 18v solar lamp posts with PV panels are going to be erected in the core campus area of college to illuminate from dusk to dawn. A well equipped Night Watchman in proper dress code is assigned for safety and security of the Institution. Fire extinguishers are also fitted at strategic locations and students are trained for its effective use once in a year by YRC-RRC-CU i.e. at the time of refilling. A set of close circuit cameras are also proposed to be installed for campus surveillance and class room scrutiny.

14. WATER & ELECTRICITY – We have access to both under-ground water source and Pipeline water supply from PHD end with overhead reservoirs. Drinking water facility is available for all collegiate students and members of the staff. Apart from CESCO power supply we have Inverter based uninterrupted power supply to Smart Class rooms and Administrative Block and instant power supply to all other set-ups and infrastructures through a 10kva Generator.
